Let go of the hustle

Dear friend,

There’s a “very important person” in my office building who has a sign on his office wall. It reads “Hustle More.”

I have two reactions: 1) Throw a coffee cup at the sign 2) Purge profusely

Can I do both and call it a day?

You’re busy.

This is society’s fatal mistake. Worthiness is tied up on your to-do list.

You’re unworthy if you’re not busy.

The news, your parents, society at large says you’ve got to hustle. It’s the only way to get where you need to go. If you want more money, hustle. If you want better relationships, hustle. If you want better sex, hustle.

Hustle, hustle, hustle.

Contrary to this nagging, I challenge you to let go.

Let go of the hustle.

You’re a whole human being without the hustle.

Let go of perfection.

You’re beautiful despite your shortcomings.

Let go of the to-do list.

You’ll make time for the things that truly matter.

Everything you need to do will happen in the time it’s supposed to happen.

Trust time and trust the universe. Both have your back.

In this moment, try letting go.

I’ll try using my telekinetic powers to eradicate the ‘hustle more’ sign. Anything is possible.

Your friend,
